A Look at the Subaru Forester

Subaru are no strangers to making quality cars. With the Forester, they’ve managed to find popularity with critics and the general public alike for creating a first-rate crossover SUV that is just at home on the urban streets as it is plowing up and down mountains. If you’ve got adventure always at the front of your mind, but you also need to be thinking about how to transport the kids to and from soccer practice, then this might be the vehicle that’s right for you. Below, we take a look at what buyers have to look forward to by investigating some of the vehicle’s key features. Buckle up, because the Forester always promises an exciting adventure!

The Subaru Forester has been at the top of the crossover SUV game since 1997 when the first generation of the car went into production. Indeed, not only has it been at the top of the game; it also contributed to the game existing first place. When the car was debuted way back in the mid-nineties, it was recognized as one of the first such vehicles. The model has been through several generations since then. The first generation lasted from 1997 – 2002. The second had a six-year lifespan, from 2002 – 2008; the third generation from 2008 – 2013; and now, the fourth generation, the latest, which was presented in 2014.

Under the Hood

When it comes to these types of vehicles, it’s all about what’s under the hood. Remember: this car isn’t just for running errands around town, it’s also for those long getaways, where you might be taking on terrain that you don’t normally drive through. The car has to have the power to get through this moments unscathed, and that’s just what the Forester is capable of, thanks to its impressive engine. There’s a 2.5-litre engine that is capable of delivering 170hp and 174lb of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed manual, which is ideal for navigating those steep terrains you’ll find yourself on.

Driving Styles

As we said, this vehicle isn’t just for nipping about town. It’s also for adventure. The twin turbo engine makes it more than comfortable driving through terrain that other cars would find hazardous, but it’s also got all the steering capabilities to drive around the neighborhood without any difficulty. If you’re looking for a car that allows you to drive sensibly and safely wherever you find yourself, then the Forester might be the car for you.

Parking Like a Pro

We all know how frustrating it can be to finally find a parking space, only to have a moment of self-doubt: do we really have the required driving skills to park this car in that pretty tight space? The answer, when you have the Subaru, is yes. This is because they have rear view mirrors installed. You’ll be able to see what’s right behind you. There’ll be no reason to hit that static parking bollard anymore! Unfortunately, this does give you no excuse to fall back on, but hey ho, you can’t have everything in life.

Safety First

One of the most important aspects of any vehicle is how safe it is. This is especially true when you take a vehicle like an SUV, which can be used in equal measure when you’re transporting the kids around and when you’re out having fun. You never know what might lie around the next bend, or when you might come across something hazardous when you’re driving around town. The Forester is well equipped to deal with these potential dangers. It has a system called the Vehicle Dynamics Control, which assists the driver when it comes to sudden stopping. There are also things called blind-spot monitoring, which means you won’t be surprised by anything nasty when you’re out on the road. Overall, this vehicle received five out five for safety, making it one of its main attributes. There are seven airbags in total so that you and your passengers can stay safe.

For the Family

This car is one for the whole family, from the youngest child right up to the grandparents. One of the main reasons for this is because the doors open big and wide, making it easy for people to get in and out of. If you have a parent who has a wheelchair or other mobility issues, they’ll find it easier to get in the car before you go for a drive. There are five seats in total, which means you can pack in everyone comfortably and all go on an adventure, without having to leave anyone behind!

The vehicle is available in a number of trims. These are: 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Touring, 2.0XT Premium, and 2.0XT Touring. As you can expect, the further up the trim level you go, the more you’ll get – but of course, there’s a higher cost involved. The base, entry level of the Forester actually comes with a lot of features, so it’s not like you’ll be driving around an inferior vehicle. The lower rung of the trims has cloth interior, though it is possible to get a leather interior if you like having an added touch of luxury when you drive.

Driving for Longer

Nobody likes to have to stop to fill up the fuel tank too often. If you have the Subaru, then you won’t have to. Well, you will – but you’ll be getting more bang for your buck. Subaru made an extra effort to make their engine as efficient as possible, which means it’s capable of achieving 32 mpg. Of course, MPG goes beyond just what the engine is capable of: it’s also how you drive. Avoid accelerating too quickly and harsh braking, as well as maintaining a consistent speed when you’re on highways, and you’ll be going further without having to open your wallet.

Added Comfort

If you’re going to be the one driving, then good news: you won’t have to stop driving because you’re getting uncomfortable any time soon. Are you planning on having skiing adventures in the car? Then you won’t have to feel the bite of the chilly air when you’re on the road. The Forester comes with a heated steering wheel – perfect for keeping your hands warm without having to wear gloves! The seat also has a memory feature, and can be moved into a highly customizable position. Whatever size you are, you’ll be able to have the seat that’s right for you!

Those Driving Songs

OK, a car is of course about how it handles the road, but it’s also about having fun! And there’s nothing more fun than having all those great driving songs loaded up and ready to play when you hit the road. You’ll have a great sound system that’ll help you enjoy the music experience to the max. For starters, you have a number of options on where the music comes from. There’s a CD player, radio, and USB connectivity. Whatever you play, it’ll all come through the high-quality surround system; even the people in the back will be able to hear your favorite driving songs perfectly.

Multimedia Fun

And that’s not all when it comes to fun, either. In fact, it’s just the start! The Subaru has a whole multimedia system setup. For example, there’s the LCD touchscreen unit, from which you can control plenty of areas within the car. If you go for one of the higher trims, then you’ll have Starlink: this is a sophisticated unit which comes with bags of features that help you to stay safe on the road.

Ready for Adventure

The handling and power of the vehicle make it perfect for getting into the great outdoors. Indeed, this is a vehicle that was designed with one eye on adventure. This is all-wheel drive, remember, which means you can look at most destinations and think ‘yes we can go there,’ rather than ‘hmm, I don’t think our vehicle is ready for this.’ If you opt for the optional turbocharged option, you’ll have no issues anywhere, no matter how steep the terrain you’re traveling on is.

Plenty of Space

One of the key areas of the Forester is the amount of space it provides. It doesn’t just seat five people; it seats five people very comfortably indeed. Inside the cabin is large, bright, and airy. In the back of the vehicle, you’ll have enough space to pack for all your camping and recreational equipment, or you can use to pack in your weekly shopping from the supermarket.

Bottom Line

When it comes down to it, people already know what to expect from Forester. They know they’re going to get a high-quality vehicle that is jam packed with features and ready for adventure. They know this because they’ve been doing it for twenty years! Always mindful of what the general public wants, Subaru have taken their core values and added a few thrills, incorporating the latest technology, to create a car that’ll win plenty of fans.

The Honda NSX: A True Beauty To Behold

The worlds of tech and automobiles are becoming more and more entwined as the years go by. As developments are made in the tech world; they soon reach the market for car buyers. And, this trend is only getting bigger. With cars that run completely on electricity to vehicles that can drive themselves; huge steps have been made to make life on the road better. But, this post isn’t long enough to talk about everything. So, instead, it’s going to focus on one car; the Honda NSX. This hybrid supercar sits at the tippity-top of the tech-car coalition. So, let’s take a look at what makes this beast purr.

To start, you can’t look at a car like this without having a peak under the hood. The car boasts a 3.5L V6 engine, locking down 573 bhp. Though, the car is quite heavy, it can still hit sixty in an impressive 3 seconds. And, this is just the start. Along with its conventional engine, the NSX is also home to a hybrid setup. This technology allows the car to be partially powered by electric motors which run from the engine. All in all, this makes for a much more efficient car; breaking the fuel-guzzling trend found in most supercars. At the heart of the car, you find a dual-transmission 9-speed gearbox, to allow for seamless gear changes and loads of room for fun. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a supercar without twin-turbochargers sucking even more out of the behemoth of an engine in this car.

Now, it’s time to look at the surface of this car a little more. Cars like this are designed to be beautiful. And, this is something the NSX has achieved masterfully. From its sleek, shark-like front end, to its broad and almost Corvette-inspired rear; this motor is sure to be a head-turner. And, it doesn’t just stop at the outside of the car. Once you get inside, you’re welcomed by Honda’s finest interior design. With a well-integrated multimedia center, the car will always be able to provide for your entertainment needs. And, it has one of the sleekest center consoles out there. All in all, this car will meet the style needs of most drivers.

Of course, owning a car like this will never come cheap. The work that goes into designing, testing, and manufacturing one of these vehicles is incredible. And, this is reflected in the NSX’s one and a half hundred thousand price tag. This is ignoring the maintenance costs for the car, too. You will always have to take it to Honda mechanics; otherwise, the engineers you choose might struggle. But, you will likely get a warranty if you buy an NSX brand new. So, this could be covered for you. Either way, you’ll need to look after this car as best you can.

This isn’t likely to convince you to go out and spend the equivalent of a family home on a car. But, it should give you a good idea of how the tech and motoring worlds are meeting in the middle to create better roads for everyone.

Fiat 500: An All-Round Dream?

When it comes to trying to find a great all-rounder, we need to at least consider the Fiat 500. This is one of those cars which became something of a classic shortly after its initial release. The question here is: is that fair or accurate? Is the Fiat 500 a genuine classic all-rounder of a car? To answer that question, we will need to look at a few specific areas. These are things which most of us want to see in any car, so it is worth looking at these qualities in particular. How does the Fiat 500 fare when put up to this kind of test? Let’s take a look and find out.

Everybody can agree that the amount of space in a vehicle is hugely important. This is true for anyone, even if you do not personally need a great deal. With the Fiat 500, space is unlikely to ever be a particular problem. Many have said that this model is surprisingly roomy for its size. While this might sound oxymoronic, driving it proves that this is the case. It does seem to have the effect of being larger than it should reasonably be on the inside. This is a real plus for just about driver on the road. The only major downside here: the boot. This is probably slightly too small for your average motorist. This is a shame, as boot size is important for many people.

How does it look? The Fiat 500 is one of those cars which has something of an acquired taste. Then again, you might be one of those who falls in love with it immediately. Either way, there is no denying that a certain artistry has gone into the design of the exterior. This is a vehicle with a kind of trendy, retro look going on – and you can’t say much fairer than that. Regardless of what you tend to want in a car’s looks, you probably won’t be too disappointed here. Another mark for the all-rounder box, then.

Value For Money

To tell the truth, this is somewhere where the Fiat 500 really appeals. Most reviewers seem to be agreed that this model is fantastic value for money. It has a relatively low upfront starting cost, to begin with. But that’s not all. It also boasts some of the lowest insurance prices around – take a look at this Seguros for an example. In terms of ongoing costs, the overall picture is a positive one. It is unlikely that you will need to fork out much for fuel with this car’s level of consumption. What’s more, its high reliability means that you won’t be spending too much on the mechanic either.

Finally, a look at the actual driveability of the car. This is the most important part for many people, and it certainly can’t be overlooked here. On the whole, the Fiat 500 drives well, and easily enough for most road users. Its handling seems to be some of the smoothest currently going, and that is something anyone can get behind. All in all, a smooth and pleasant ride.
