When we first buy a car, oh man, it becomes our greatest pride and joy. We ban food from being eaten inside, we’re careful of the way we driving it and we’re out there polishing the bodywork come rain or shine. But as time goes by, we fall out of love with our dear old cars.

We stop caring for them. We stop looking after them. We let them fall victim to age. Basically, we see them as spent before that is even nearly the case. In fact, most of the time, we can bring our old pieces of history back to the modern world with just a few little part changes, a few little tweaks, and a little bit of knowledge. Trust us, it’s the little things that will make your car feel new again.

Change Your Oil

Oil has to be one of the most overlooked replacements of any car. We can’t tell you why, but most car owners don’t change their oil anywhere near enough. Or the the filter for that matter. It is kind of insane, when thinking about it, because your oil is what keeps that engine ticking over nice and smoothly. So if you’re car starts to judder a bit, well it’s probably because you need to change your oil, something you should do roughly every 4,000 miles to 6,000 miles. Hello better efficiency.

Update The Tech

Technology goes out of date within 6 months of it coming out. Look at your iPhone and whatever else you own. The same goes for your poor old car. It only takes a few years and your sound system is out of date, so f you’ve never changed it, and you’re still having to search the frequency manually, it’s time to renew your vibe. The great news is, it doesn’t have cost an arm and a leg to bring it back into the world of epic. For a hundred bucks, you can get a radio with a built in aux cable, bluetooth, and every other gimmick going. You may even land yourself a DAB radio. It’s a sure fire way to bring excitement back to your commute.

Change Your Battery

Why do people ignore such a vital energy source. Think about it. It’s a battery. Batteries are needed. That’s why you need to undergo a car battery replacement at least every 5 years. It could even be that you need to do this more often depending on where you rank in this equation; small journeys use up the battery and long journeys help them recover. Basically, though, a sweet battery will give your car that start first time vibe that is associated with new beasts.

Your Brake Pads

Is there anything that makes an old car feel older than spongy brakes. Well, in our expert opinion, the answer is nope. You’re driving along, see a red light, press and… nothing. So why not bring your old car back to life with a quick change of the brake pads. It’s not a difficult process, or even a costly one, but wow will it have a sweet impact.

Give It A Deep Clean

We’re talking really deep. Start with a quick trip to the local cash wash slash valet service and pick the most expensive option they do, that thing that will really make it sparkle. If shelling out $15 isn’t your style, though, then it is just a matter of getting the hose out, the sponges, and the wax. Then once this is done, it’s time to shampoo the carpets, shampoo the seats, hoover the seats and the bits in between the seats.
